The beginning of the project

The idea of a small wine paradise in Slovakia was introduced by Per Lundhede and his good friend Jozef Snegon. Per was a resident of Slovakia for more than two decades, where together with Jozef he lived his everyday life in agriculture. The idea turned into conversations between friends and friends of friends and in 2017 a group of energetic wine lovers from Denmark went on a trip to Slovakia, where we fell head over heels for Blahova, our farm and the nature around it. The project saw the light of day in the spring of 2018 and a shared dream and idea grew from there into reality.

Winemaker

Today, our dedicated Slovak winemaker Jozef Snegon, educated at the University of Nitra, heads Dom Vinique in Slovakia. 2022 was the year we harvested our first wine. It is almost unreal and completely moving when, just a few years after the start, you take a walk down through almost endless rows of luxuriantly growing vines. Winding rows that stretch 25 kilometers and which in the first year have borne tons of grapes.

    The wine

We achieve intense wine with a great taste by reducing the bunches of grapes, so that the remaining grapes become more powerful and full-bodied, which results in a wine of good quality.

    The area

The climate of Slovakia is a mix of temperate and continental, with relatively hot summers and cold, wet winters. It gives us a wonderful climate for wine production. With more than 2,500 years of experience in wine production, Slovakia knows what it's doing.

    The farm

We fell in love at first sight with the farm and the nature around Dom Vinique. The overgrown rows of 70-year-old vines had a story of a bygone era, which we wanted to revive.

    The field

Between the Little and Big Danube, the farm and our fields are in the middle of Slovakia's best wine region. Here we find Slovakia's most fertile soil, with a subsoil of million-year-old mineral deposits from mountains and shellfish in this former river delta.
